Digital Railroad Releases Export Plug-in for Apple Aperture
New York; Seattle (PRWeb) January 12, 2007 -- Digital Railroad Inc., a leading provider of Web-based application services for the professional photography industry, announced release of its export plug-in for Apple Aperture. The new plug-in gives Digital Railroad members a one-click solution for transferring image files from Aperture version 1.5 directly into their archives powered by Digital Railroad.
"The combination of the new plug-in and our archive powered by Digital Railroad has taken many of the repetitive and time-consuming tasks out of the workflow process," said long-time National Geographic photographers Sisse Brimberg and Cotton Coulson, owners of Keenpress (www.keenpress.com). "Uploading images has never been faster and simpler."
Unique to the export plug-in developed by Digital Railroad, Aperture users can continue working in the photo-editing program while they upload images to their DRR archives, resulting in a seamless workflow. The plug-in developed by DRR also allows users to add images to the upload in progress.
Digital Railroad members can batch-load directly into an existing image group or create a new group so they maintain control over how and where their images are uploaded. The export plug-in also quickly and easily converts Aperture's proprietary image format into JPEG and TIFF formats.
The Digital Railroad export plug-in for Aperture is one more tool in the suite of features and services that allows member photographers to submit images easily to their personally branded archives. Digital Railroad also offers members an upload utility for users of iView Media Pro, a wholly owned subsidiary of Microsoft Corp., and scanning and keywording services from JaincoTech.
"We're always focused streamlining our members' workflow," said Evan Nisselson, Digital Railroad CEO and Founder. "By offering features that minimize redundant steps, we enable our members to increase their productivity and get their unique images to market sooner."
The upload utility can be downloaded at www.digitalrailroad.net/corpsite/aperture_exporter.html

About a month ago, I was helping a friend collect meteorites. We picked out a grid pattern and started walking six to 9 feet apart with metal detectors looking for the iron-nickel meteorites which are quite common here on the Earth's surface The grid is large and takes many days to even make a dent in it and each time we are able to collect some meteorites.

Why Using Seatbelts Can Avoid Railroad Crashes
If you are an avid moviegoer or a novel buff, you would notice that some dramatic scenes would involve train crashes. And remember the staged publicity stunt in Crush, Texas in 1896? Although two people were killed in this prearranged setup, it has drawn a massive spectacle of about 50,000 people during the crash. This is how railroad accidents have been prominent figures of popular culture in modern times, no matter how catastrophic it can be.
The American Flyer Model Train
Although The American Flyer model trains were at their peak of popularity between the 1940s and the 1960s, they actually had a long history before that, and their popularity seems to be on the increase again today William Hafner, working as a toymaker in Chicago, developed a clockwork motor for use in toy cars in the very early part of the 19th Century and by 1905 was making toy trains using that clockwork motor
